This course aims to support educators in their creation of learning resources by presenting good practices linked to the EEDA concept, and by exanimating an existing EEDA learning resource.
The course consists of 2 lessons (see learning journey below) and is estimated to require a total of 16 hours.
Uniqueness: This course is unique in providing several modules containing EEDA good practices, and a view at an existing learning resource. By doing so, the course supports educators in the global, collaborative EEDA model that enables them to co-create and adapt high-quality energy-focused learning resources tailored to local needs.
Societal Relevance: This course holds societal relevance by equipping EEDA educators to collaboratively develop energy-focused resources, fostering a shared global knowledge base that can be adapted to local energy education needs. By empowering educators with quality-focused pedagogical tools and strategies, it supports the global transition towards sustainable energy solutions through global yet localized, impactful education.
Intended Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, learners should be able to:
Knowledge: Recognize the key elements and functions of the EEDA model, including the Learnify repository.
Skills: Identify essential tools and requirements for creating or adapting EEDA learning resources.
Skills: Select appropriate instructional methods, like challenge-based learning and flipped classroom, to support diverse learning objectives.
Responsibility and Autonomy: As this is an automatically corrected course, this category does not apply.
Evaluation and Grading Criteria: The ("freemium") course evaluation is done through the automatically corrected questions in each Content Module of the course. The grading criteria of each Content Module is "Pass/Fail". To receive a "Pass" of the full course each one of the Content Modules have to be successfully completed.
Course Level as per Qualification Framework: This course corresponds to the European Qualification Framework (EQF) 2
Estimated Learning hours: This course corresponds to 0.58 SMCTS-credits (Stackable Master Credit Transfer System), which translates into 16 Estimated Learning Hours (ELH).
Freemium vs Premium: This is a Freemium (=completely self-paced) version of the course. As such it is continuously open. There is no "real-life" instructor involved, and no discussion forum. All the learning reosurces can be used for free after registration. It is possible to, for a fee, receive a "Certificate of Completion of the Course through Automatically Corrected Assignments".
This course is aimed towards university educators within the Energy sector who have either completed the course “Introduction to the Explore Energy Digital Academy”, or are already familiar with the EEDA concept and creating learning resources on the Learnify platform.

The EXPLORE Energy Digital Academy (EEDA) is an Educator-to-Educator collaborative environment in which educators globally commonly and co-creatively develop learning resources with the energy field that then can be used locally by any educator in the network to create courses adapted to their local regional needs.
